Today at 4pm PT/ 7pm ET we are also kicking off our first ever Mad Woman Writing Group retreat.
This is an EXPERIMENT but I can already tell it will FUN and creatively JUICY, so you should definitely JOIN US.
If you want in, upgrade to a Writing Group subscription— that’s the founding tier, not just a regular paid subscription, because you get EXTRA CRAFT STUFF and COMMUNITY. I created this group to bring some of my teaching work to the Mad Woman community, and it’s been great fun. Writing Group subscribers have weekly chats and monthly craft essays and prompts; we’ll also have another retreat in the fall. Read all about it here.

Monday (today!): introductions and discussion of writing goals
4pm-5pm PT / 7pm-8pm ET
Tuesday 5/7: write-in; come for dedicated, co-working time; a writing prompt will be offered at the top of the hour, but join us anytime
10am-11am PT / 1pm-2pm ET
Wednesday 5/8: office hour; a completely open hour to ask me questions live and connect with your fellow writers
1pm-2pm PT / 4pm-5pm ET
Thursday 5/9: write-in; come for dedicated, co-working time; a writing prompt will be offered at the top of the hour, but join us anytime
10am-11am PT / 1pm-2pm ET
Friday 5/10: virtual “open studio” gathering; come share a short excerpt of whatever you’re working on
4pm-5pm PT / 7pm-8pm ET
You can find the full schedule with Zoom links for each gathering at the link below. Keep in mind you’ll need to upgrade to the Writing Group to access the full post with the Zoom information— again, that’s a founding-level subscription.
If you’re confused about upgrading your subscription, here is what Substack says about the process fwiw:
If you JUST subscribed as an annual regular paid subscriber (like, yesterday) for $50, you’ll take that full $50 off the Writing Group subscription
If you’re halfway through your annual membership, you’ll get $25 off the Writing Group subscription
If you’re at some other point in your subscription, or paying monthly, your mileage will vary, but you’ll still get some kind of discount.
No matter when you joined us, upgrading to the Writing Group extends your subscription by a full year. So you’ll be renewing your membership AND getting more content.
