Reading Group meets today
Mad Woman’s feminist Reading Group meets today Monday August 25 at 12pm PT/ 3pm ET on Zoom. The meeting info is below the paywall.
Come talk with us about The Combahee River Collective’s manifesto, and the question of how we get free. We’ll discuss the intersection of racism and sexism, the notion of “the personal is political,” anti-capitalism, and what we can all learn from Black feminism. We’ll also discuss what the text brings up for us personally, and how we can incorporate what it has to say into our daily lives.
These conversations are always so expansive and grounding— a real life raft in hard times. Please join us, even if you only have time to skim the reading, which can be found in this post:
This week, I’m also participating in the Parents Solidarity Fast for Gaza to bring attention to the intentional starvation of Palestinians in Gaza by US-backed Israel. The fast demands are the immediate unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, an immediate arms embargo on Israel, and a full end to the ongoing genocide.
Check out the sign up sheet and consider joining a group near you.
