This month in the Mad Woman Reading Group we’re looking at How We Get Free: Black Feminism and the Combahee River Collective, because I feel like we really need to talk about socialism and separatism. These topics are in the air and have been for some time, and the original Combahee River Collective Statement is a perfect place to begin these conversations.
I hope reading the group’s short manifesto together will give us a road into conversations about race, gender, “decentering men,” intersectional politics, feminism(s) today, and lots more.
