My favorite conversation regarding my divorce happened in an airport bar. I told a woman (a total stranger) that I had just gotten separated and she said, with so much glee in her voice, "Oh! Congratulations!" I was like, damn straight, that's the right response!
Beautifully said. While I choose to continue to be married, I also know I wouldn’t be able to separate if I wanted or needed to because my physical limitations don’t allow me to make money to live on. Like so many, my fate is dependent on my partner’s continued altruism.
I was divorced twice before kids and my current marriage. I generally say "I'm sorry you're going through this" because even in the best and most collaborative of circumstances, the legal stuff is A PAIN and takes way longer than you'd expect and involves so many small cruelties.

I love this! She clearly gets it.

Ah and you!
This is great as usual. I’ve just shared it with several friends.

Marriage is, sadly, our safety net in this country.
So good. Choose you! Choose life!
