Next week, our Writing Group will meet virtually for our biannual spring retreat. If you want to join us for a week of connection that includes generative writing sessions, office hours where you can ask me literally anything, an author talk with the luminous
, author of the memoir Want Me, AND community with the most supportive and interesting feminist writers I know, be sure you upgrade to a Writing Group membership (that’s a founding-level subscription). We do two of these retreats a year, and they’re always so grounding. They’re also low stakes and low pressure but are a great way to set a little time aside to reconnect with your writing without leaving your house or responsibilities, because a week away is just not possible for all of us.
If you join the Writing Group now, you’ll also get to come to our fall retreat, and will get access to our weekly Writing Group chats, where you can crowdsource writing resources and work swaps, ask questions of me and the group, and share what you’re working on. You’ll also get discounts on classes and other little treats that I do my best to sprinkle on the group throughout the year, like a little feminist writing fairy.
Oh, and you get everything regular paid subscribers get, including immediate access to all past and future author salons, a monthly feminist essay Reading Group, writing prompts you can return to anytime you need a little push into your writing, and paywalled essays. All genres and genders and levels are welcome!
Here’s the schedule! Come to as few or as many events as you’d like next week.
Retreat schedule
Monday May 5 at 4-5pm PT/7pm-8pm ET

Tuesday May 6 at 1pm-2pm PT/ 4pm-5pm ET
Community Write-in— come cowrite with us; I’ll offer a prompt at the top of the hour and/or you can work on anything you want; we’ll have a check-in at the end, but feel free to pop in and out depending on your schedule (not recorded, but I’ll share the writing prompt later in the week if you can’t make it)
Wednesday May 7 at noon-1pm PT/ 4pm-5pm ET
Author Salon w/ Tracy Clark-Flory, author of the memoir Want Me, which Rebecca Traister called “a gift” and “so very smart” (which I have also been known to say about Tracy); Tracy and I will chat about writing sex and feminism in memoir and criticism, her killer newsletter

Also on Wednesday at 4pm-5pm PT/7pm-8pm ET
Office Hour w/ me— come ask any and all questions about writing, publishing, whatever is on your mind (not recorded)
