This week, I’ve been busy hosting our Writing Group’s biannual virtual retreat, and let me tell you, it has been so nourishing. Life has been hectic, and not just for me, but for everyone who (still! somehow!) found the time to drop into the write-ins and community discussions this week. There is simply nothing like stumbling into a room, even if it is 2D, to find yourself among writers at all stages and phases, working in all different genres, finding time to make art not only despite the ugly things happening in the world, but as a form of resistance to the attempted erasure of so many people’s lives and experiences.
Thank you to everyone who came— and Writing Group, remember that we have a final share tonight, same Zoom link we’ve been using.
Two writing prompts
Below are the prompts we used at our write-ins this week. I’m making them accessible to all paid subscribers because I feel like we all need more art, especially now, as this administration actively shuts down artistic funding. It’s just another reminder of how powerful the work we do is.
If you want access to writing prompts, our Reading Group, author salons, and more, upgrade your subscription. Paid subscribers make literally everything we do here together possible.
